Cabling architecture guide

For installers only.

DEFA Powers charging solution can be configured to protect a common upstream fuse.

With the DEFA Balancer you can additionally protect the fuse if there are unknown loads (i.e house loads).

DEFA Power has integrated 6mA DC protection and requires an external Type A residual current device (RCD). This can either be done in the fuse box or in the installation prior to the connecting point of DEFA Power. If a flat cable solution is used with a higher current than 32A a MCB must be placed prior to the connection point of DEFA Power. Optionally a RCBO can be used.

A circuit breaker up to 32A is required to be present upstream the charging station. Below are some examples of the safety devices needed where common cabling is used.

DEFA Power has the possibility to be installed with several cabling possibilities.
