Engine Heater SafeStart 600 series

Oil heater

The heaters are used for air-cooled engines or in combination with an engine heater for the coolant.

DEFA has focused on easy installation and optimal heating functionality during the development of engine preheaters. For different engine and vehicle combinations, DEFA has nine primary heater elements with more than 500 variants and over 5000 individual applications.

Heaters in the 600 series are used for air-cooled engines or in combination with an engine heater for the coolant. Oil manufacturers have stipulated a maximum value of 2.4 W/cm² for the surface of the heating element to prevent any adverse effects on the quality of the oil. For large vehicles with oil pans of adequate size, the active part of the element is placed in the oil. The power of the oil heater is usually rated at 250W. Therefore, these elements do not have a lead fuse.
