DEFA Battery separator 24V 100A is mainly used to separate two battery groups where the charging current from the dynamo does not exceed 100A continuously and makes sure that both battery groups are being charged, and to avoid draining of the start battery if the consumption is not turned off.
The battery separator is controlled by the system's voltage level and connects/disconnects the start battery according to this, and ensures that start is first priority. The main benefit by use of the separator is that there is no potential el. voltage drop as opposed to e.g. a diode. This is also an optimal and easy solution for a 2-circuit system without having to work on the original installation. It is possible to automatically connect both battery groups if in need at a possible start battery breakdown.
